(KENT, Wash) – The National Hot Rod Association has announced race dates for 2013, which includes two big stops on the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Pacific Raceways.

The Kent track will hold back-to-back Lucas Oil drag events in August.  In addition, Pacific Raceways is one of only 10 tracks in the nation to host a new series – NHRA Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series, sponsored by Harley-Davidson.

The Lucas Oil Division 6 Drag Race will take place August 15-16 (Thursday-Friday); a Lucas Oil Regional Drag Race, which includes Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car, is scheduled for August 17-18 (Saturday-Sunday).  The Screamin’ Eagle event will take place during the Regional race, August 17-18.

The Lucas races are scheduled for two weeks after the 26th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals slated for August 2-4.  By doubling up on the Divisional and Regional over an extended weekend, racers and fans will be able to cut down on travel costs, said Ed Garfield, Pacific Raceways Drag Manager.  The Raceway will provide parking for racers who wish to keep their equipment at the track between the National event and Division race.  Pacific Raceways will also have a test and tune session on Wednesday, August 14 for racers entered into the divisional and regional races.  Northwest ET racers are encouraged to compete in Super Pro and Pro categories.

Fans will also be able to see a new series of motorcycle drag bikes including Top Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin’ Bagger, V-Rod, and Hot Street.  The 10-race series will offer a total purse of $152,800 among the five classes.  Winners in each category at every event will receive a Wally, in addition to prize money.

“The NHRA Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series greatly expands Harley-Davidson’s commitment to supporting grassroots drag racers with great Screamin’ Eagle performance products, more contingency payouts, and expanded opportunities to race on a national stage,” said Harley-Davidson Racing Manager Kris Schoonover.
