(KENT, Wash) – The 2011 racing season at Pacific Raceways came to a close Saturday (Dec. 17) as the final test and tune finished under sunny skies with 54 cars making laps on the challenging 2.25-mile road course.
Formula racers, full-race Mustangs and BMWs and a variety of fast street-driven cars such as Corvettes, Porches and Vipers made at-speed laps. Drivers were organized into novice, intermediate/expert, and pro categories. Cars were on-track for 20-minute sessions, rotating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The car count was the largest of season. Road racing test and tunes will start back up in February.
“It was a great first-time effort and we were very appreciative of the racers who came out for our events,” said Tracie Brandenburg, Pacific Raceways’ general manager. “Our car counts grew each weekend. We were extremely pleased to be able to offer our drivers a chance to get extra seat time. We can’t wait until it starts back up again in February.”
