Head to Pacific Raceways March 20-21, 2010 to watch US National Extreme Karts battle it out at speeds up to 150 miles per hour! Pacific Raceways’ 2.25 mile road course will feature nose to nose extreme kart racing, which makes an for an intense and exciting event for the whole family! The races start at 9am and go until 5pm on both days. Daily admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth 7-14, and children 6 and under are free! There will also be drawings for spectators to race a kart at a future event; two adults and two juniors will win race entries.
One of the featured Kart racers is Chris Hegar, who races in three classes; Formula 125, Limited heavy, and Super stock CR 125, and he drives a Shark Shifter kart. Hegar has been racing for 20 years, and he is from Portland, OR. Hegar typically races in 4-5 events year. His brother, Ryan a fellow kart racer, is his strongest competitor.
Another featured Kart racer is Scott Beaudoin, who races in the CR 125 shifter class, and he drives an Aero kart. Beaudoin has been racing on and off since the 70’s, and he is from Vancouver, WA. Beaudoin’s father started racing in 1963, and his family had a Go Kart shop, Beaudoin grew up racing. The Hegar brothers are some of his strongest competitors. Beaudoin’s goal at the US Nationals are to have a dry event (hopefully), and having a good position on the last lap, Beaudoin said, “if you’re positioned correctly in the last lap, then you’ll do awesome, if you’re not positioned correctly or strategically, then you wont place as well.” ![]() ![]() PSRRA (Puget Sound Road Race Association) will be celebrating its 12 anniversary during the 2010 racing season. The club runs purely on the volunteer efforts and passions of its members. PSRRA can trace its road racing roots back over 40 years at Pacific Raceways. Kart Road Racing is one of the best kept secrets of the sport. Imagine yourself being able to race on the road courses of your racing heroes. With Kart Road Racing you could race your Kart at Daytona, Road America, Infineon Racway and Laguna Seca to name just a few of the big name tracks. PSRRA supports the North West Gold Cup. A series of races run at Pacific Raceway, Portland International, Bremerton Motorsports park and the new track at Grass Valley Oregon. Depending upon the class your kart is a part of, you can race with top speeds of 70-130mph. Races lasting 30-45 minutes each. You can often run 2 seperate classes each race day, plus have 2 hours of open practice. That's more track time than most any other racing!
