Most Leaders Hold Position After Third Round of Auto Max USA Race

(KENT, Wash) – Despite early round exits, Pro racer Martin Lambert and Sportsman racer Keith Hadley remain atop their respective leaderboards after Sunday’s (June 10) Auto Max USA Drag race.

Lambert, of Everett, ruined his string of runner-up finishes by bowing out in the first round.  The Monza driver has an eight point lead of Bill Windley in the season point standings.  In Sportsman, Hadley lost in the second round, but still holds a slight lead over previous race winners Don Elgin and Jackie Soulek.

The dreaded Sunday afternoon curfew put a halt to Pro before the final round before Jeff Warnke and Tim Lewis could run.  The curfew bug also bit Super Pro after the field was trimmed to the semi-finals.  Mark Cavar, Greg Carlile, Jody Pettit, and Robert Strohm were the four drivers who made it out of the fourth round.  With his semi-final finish, Cavar jumped to the top of the Super Pro point standings.  He holds a 16 point lead over former winners Toby Peterson and Brandon Spitali.

In a battle of late model Mustangs, Casey Reed beat Andrew Ward in the final round of Sportsman.

Federal Way’s Dan Funderburg posted a .005 package in the final round to top Joe Lind in Motorcycle.  Lind holds a 36 point lead over Funderburg in the season point standings.

Amber Arthur scored the win in Jr. Dragster Lightening over a red-lighting John Dickenson Jr.   Bobbie Burkeries took the final in Jr. Dragster Thunder over Katie Kapler.

Westcoast Street Car Association winners on Sunday were Don Paine, Chris Kittleson, John Eldridge, Wally Friedlander, Brian Sipe, Paja Agatowovic, and Joe Loch.
