Auto Max USA Drag Points and Results
(KENT, Wash) – After five of 11 races in the Auto Max USA Drag Race Series at Pacific Raceways, some familiar names sit atop the season points in all categories.
In the Motorcycle Class, Renton’s Joe Lind has a 30 point lead over second place Jacob Havens. The Funderburgs – Dan and Jim – are in the third and fourth place spots respectively.
Don Elgin and his big Pontiac sits atop the Sportsman category after piling up rounds on Saturday (July 7). Elgin’s 254 points is 37 more than another Pontiac racer, Paul Young.
Double winner Dustin Martin made a huge move on Saturday in the Pro Class season points and is now just one point behind leader Brad Craig of Olympia. Also in the points hunt are Bill Windley, Scott Lewsley, and Martin Lambert.
The dragster of Mark Cavar holds the top spot in Super Pro with an 18 point lead over 2011 Champion Al Chinn, who runner-upped in the nightcap race on Saturday.
The Jr. Lightning Dragster of Amber Arthur has a significant 65-point lead over Covington’s Austin Grotting and Puyallup’s Lane Cavar. In Thunder, Kelsee Gage and Katie Kapler are separated by just 12 points with Emily Lewis in third place.
The Auto Max USA Drag Series resumes on Saturday (July 14) with an evening race. Gates open at 4 p.m.
