More Drag Action Today; DG Machine Goes 2 for 2 Saturday
(KENT, Wash) – Sunday’s drag race menu will feature plenty of blue sky and fast cars at Pacific Raceways as racers compete on the lightning quick 1320. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. with racing from 9 to 4. Racer entry fee is $30 and spectators and crew admission is only $5.
More than 180 cars and bikes showed up for Saturday’s open Test & Tune, which featured both an electronic and non-electronic gambler’s race. In the electronic class, two Super Pro heavyweights met in the final round, with Kent’s Dale Green carding a perfect reaction time to down Portland’s Bill Heard. Green ran a 7.704 on a 7.69 dial at 170.43 miles per hour. Heard had a .020 reaction time and ran 9.328 on a 9.29 dial at 143.66 miles per hour.
Green’s DG Machine shop employee, Dallas Glenn, picked up the win in non-electronics with his 1968 El Camino. Glenn defeated Gary Clark in the money round with a 10.740 on a 10.71 dial to Clark’s breakout 10.590 on a 10.64 dial.
